The Volokh Conspiracy » Michelle Obama Asks Me to Sign President Obamaâs Birthday CardWhat's next - choreographed paens and mass gymnasic dances to the Glory of Our Leader?I received the following email from First Lady Michelle Obama:
SUBJECT: Will you sign Barack's birthday card, James?James -
Every year, our family tries to come up with a fun way to wish Barack a happy birthday.
And this August 4th, when he turns 49, I have something new in mind.
This has been a big - and hectic - year for him. After signing the Affordable Care Act and Wall Street reform into law - and completing his first year as president - I think it's safe to say we will remember it for a long time.
And I know full well how much he credits this movement, and the work of supporters like you, for the change that we've accomplished.
So I'm putting together a birthday card that I would like you to sign. Together with other Organizing for America supporters - and me, Malia, Sasha, and Bo - we'll wish him a happy birthday and let him know that we're ready to take on the year ahead alongside him.
Will you wish Barack a happy birthday with me?
J.

The _other_ Michelle - Michelle Malkin - points out that everybody wishes Obama a Happy Birthday, Michelle and the older daughter will be in Spain celebrating in the style of kings and queens of the past. The other daughter will be at camp.
Guess she's feeling guilty...!

Well, then he'll be spending his birthday with his favorite person... himself!
Funny how they bug out for his birthday. Makes me think that not all is happy in Obamaland.

Hmmm. I wonder about it somewhat too. Whether he gets defeated in 2012 or 2016(Heaven help us!!), he _will_ become an ex-pres, and _she_ will become the ex-pres's wife. Will they be able to hold it together? or will they split? If they split, will it be public, like Gore, or by agreement like the Clinton's? They still have about 10 years of children left...so my guess they'll hold it together that long...but after that??? Yup...I wonder!

Suek -
I think if he's not out in 2012, he won't be out in 2016... or ever. Likely wrong - but it's the feeling I get. He's not the sort of person to EVER let go of something he's got, if he doesn't have something better to go to.
And after President - well, he's reached the top of the heap.
