Displax 'skin' turns virtually any surface into multi-touch display
The problem is, in the view of this child of the '50s & '60s - is that it's not part of a future including flying cars, commericalized space travel, and anti-agathic treatments.
It certainly didn't include a government that was so far in debt that the dollar bills to pay it off might stretch as far as the moon... and back. Or a President determined to leave a legacy of even more debt.
But who really knows what the future holds? I think the people have had just about enough of the right, 'intelligent', 'progressive' people screwing them over in the name of 'fairness' - the Tea Party movement may very well lead to a much better future for all.
At least, so I can hope.

Speaking of anti-agathic treatments, I ran across an article the other day that said that it has been demonstrated that blood transfusions from younger donors extended the lives of older recipients. "Methuselah's Children", anyone?

Can't get to the web site from work... but I'd agree with you. You'd need a heck of a strong, variable electromagnet, although coils inside the 'UFO' that'd take the electromagnetic flux and convert it to enough electricity to power LEDs wouldn't be difficult to do.
Flipping it, however? Nope. Don't see that happening at all! It wouldn't be terribly stable in the first place, and the disruption in balance from the inversion would flip it to one side, or hard down on the base...
That said, I look forward to seeing the whole site later.
