Women turn on ‘traitor’ Oprah Winfrey for backing Barack Obama - Times OnlineWhen your power base is dependent on getting disparate groups to support you, and you've got representatives of two of those groups making a grab for the brass ring - it's not too surprising that one group would try hard to trip up the other.AMERICA’S favourite television presenter is paying a painful price for her intervention in the US presidential campaign last month. Oprah Winfrey has been dubbed a “traitor” by some of her female fans for supporting Barack Obama instead of Hillary Clinton.
Winfrey’s website, Oprah.com, has been flooded with a barrage of abuse since the queen of daytime chat shows joined Obama on a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in mid-December.
Her intervention was widely credited with broadening Obama’s national appeal - especially among women - and with helping him to an upset victory over Clinton in the first vote of the election year in Iowa.
Politics as a blood sport. Can't say I'm terribly surprised at the concept.

This is the inevitable result of the "multi-cultural" mindset, along with the affirmative action mindset. It seems to me that what it portends is a system where we have separate identity groups, and each group gets a turn to be leader, and they choose who their representative will be. Hmmmm. Sounds a little like the UN, doesn't it? And that's working out _so_ well...!
Definitely not a standards based agenda...

It's starting to seem like a bad political thriller on TV. Did the writer's strike extend to politicians, also? I'd change the channel - but there isn't anything else...
