The Alternative Energy crowd seem quite convinced we need to go off coal, gas and nuclear... but you ever notice just how 'eager' they are to actually APPROVE any of their 'alternatives'?
Coalition sues Land Office over wind farmsThe stuff's fine in abstract - it's GREAT in abstract... but when it actually has a chance of being built? When it goes from possibility to reality... that's when it suddenly becomes even worse than what it's replacing. The famed King Ranch and a coalition of environmental groups sued Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson in federal court Tuesday, seeking to require extensive environmental review and public comment on two planned wind power projects along the Gulf Coast in Kenedy County.
The coalition, the Coastal Habitat Alliance, also sued over the wind project in state District Court in Travis County. That suit claims that the state's Public Utility Commission illegally denied the alliance's request to participate in permit hearings for the wind project's transmission line.
Funny, that...

mmmm. So why is the King Ranch involved in this? That makes me hesitate to condemn this out of hand, though I tend to agree with you.

Well their excuse has *got* to be better than the Martha's Vineyard "viewshed" concept. I thought that was a joke, but apparently if your name is Kennedy, it isn't. Probably needed a bridge as part of his 'viewshed' some night a bit ago...

Blank comment above intended for the thread below this one. I not only screwed up trying to post a image but I managed to compound the error by doing it in the wrong thread!
Serendipitously a blank post does do a pretty good job of expressing my level of concern for the hazards that the new breed of politically correct environmentalists have discovered to be inherent in the alternative energy proposals espoused to such great fanfare only a few years ago by the old breed of politically correct environmentalists.
