Dr. Phat Tony's: The Difference

Fred Thompson and Hillary were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person.

The Republican, Fred Thompson, gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

Hillary was very impressed, so when they came to another homeless person, she decided to help. She walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into Thompson's pocket and got out $20. She kept $15 for her administrative fees and gave the homeless person $5.

Now, do you understand the difference?

That sums it up pretty well. Democrats want to do well with YOUR money, while conservatives are more willing to give up their own cash.

Funny, isn't it?

An important and vital step was missed in the Hillary section, and should read:

"She then reached into Thompson's pocket and got out $20. She diverted $10 to the Bill Clinton Foundation, put $5 into the 'Family Awareness' slush fund at her office, sent $5 to a bureaucrat who then removed government expenses, filled in forms to take over to the individual who duly filled out those forms and got a check for $2.25, which another bureaucrat waited until it was cashed to then removed $0.065 and promised that $0.65 could be refunded next year if the individual met necessary poverty levels. The stamp will cost $0.41 to a government allowed monopoly to get that refund. Hillary then complained that 'rich people are not paying enough in taxes.' And would then go on to decry 'waste, fraud and abuse' of the public's funds and the 'lengthy time it takes to fill in forms' that Congress has mandated."

As a side note the poor recipient was heard as saying: "No taxation without Representation." Authorities are looking into that matter as it constitutes a threat against the US Government by the laws made by Congress. (let us hope this remains fictional, because I do not put it beyond Congress to do this...)

She and quite some others Upon the Hill are clueless about how government works. Or even what their job descriptions are. And as she has risen to the level of her incompetence, I will not vote for her as she is *just* where she deserves to be.

JLawson:

No, they KNOW how government works... for THEM. They game the system, promising everything and giving nothing, and every time a Democrat gets into office and nothing happens, the people forget they got screwed by the time the next election rolls around.

All in all, it's really a trifle depressing.

J - More than just a trifling, and because of the sinecured districts with very little in the way to move them to hold folks accountable, it will not get better.

Trendlines for Iraq, going up and getting better.

Trendlines for the US, going down and getting worse.

Already we can envy the participation of Germans in their government in the 1930's!
