Hugh HewittOf course, it all depends on what Reid is trying for, isn't it?HH: Now yesterday, Harry Reid said on the floor of the Senate that the surge has failed. Do you think there’s any factual basis for making that assertion, Michael Yon, from what you’ve seen in Iraq over the last many months?
MY: He’s wrong, he’s wrong. It has absolutely not failed, and in fact, I’m finally willing to say it in public. I feel like it’s starting to succeed. And you know, I’m kind of stretching a little bit, because we haven’t gone too far into it, but I can see it from my travels around, for instance, in Anbar and out here in Diyala Province as well. Baghdad’s still very problematic. But there’s other areas where you can clearly see that there is a positive effect. And the first and foremost thing we have to do is knock down al Qaeda. And with them alienating so many Iraqis, I mean, they’re almost doing it for us. I mean, yeah, it takes military might to finally like wipe them out of Baquba, but it’s working. I mean, I sense that the surge is working. Reid is just wrong.
Remember - it's not about Iraq... it's about getting political power here in the US. If it requires burning a country, that's too bad.

Harry Reid also said we lost the war before the surge even started.
He certainly is selling out our country, and he has blood on his hands, just like Murtha, Pelosi, etc., along with some RHINO's (which are really donks in disguise).
Hi Jerry! Long time no see (or sea).

Hi, Ben! You've got a great looking blog!
On the political front - I don't know what's going through the minds of Pelosi et al - (though I suspect it's a high-grade vacuum) but surely they can see their posturing now is setting up for serious problems later...
Can't they?

Thanks Jerry!
Sure is a time eater though. :^)
Well, if they can see, they are diabolical if they still want to surrender.
If they're just vacuous and stupid, they have no business being politicians.
Either way, or both, the end result that they want will not only hurt Iraq, but the US as well.
However they will help Iran/Syria, Hezbollah, Al Qaida, Hamas, etc..

Yeah, doing a blog right does suck up sack time. (grin)
Vacuous and stupid... I'd like to think that's the worst of them. Frankly, all getting elected to Congress proves these days is that you're able to get elected to Congress, not that you've got two brain cells to rub together on a good day.
We'll see what happens, but voting for a Democrat's pretty damn far down on my list of things to do next year - right after scooping out the catbox. And since we no longer have cats, I may well never get around to it!
