Some Muslim workers at Target refuse to handle pork | buzz.mn
First it was the flying imams. Then the Muslim cab drivers who wouldn't take dogs or transport alcohol (either inside or outside passengers.)
Now this - a cashier who wouldn't scan a package containing pork. A frozen pepperoni pizza... She had to call someone to scan it for her.
I wonder - if she were fired for not doing her job, would Target get sued?

The perfect storm for a Muslim checkout clerk at Target: A gay man buying sliced ham from the deli, a bottle of wine, dog food, and a set of pigskin luggage.
How do Orthodox Jews -- who also have a prohibition against eating pork -- handle this? Or do Orthodox Jews just not take jobs whose duties will conflict with their religious beliefs?

It's actually a her, Hammer - and actually, I think it's a setup. Get her in the job, put her in a position where her religion MUST be accomodated, and if she gets fired for non-performance, sue Target for religious discrimination.
Very neat - they're testing the parameters of our tolerance and business systems like someone would test out a piece of software to find out its limitations...
